Jewellery cleaning
In-store we offer a jewellery checking and cleaning service. Prior to any cleaning we will examine your jewellery under magnification and advise you of any maintenance work which may be required. We do not charge for this service, but just ask for a charitable donation.
Polishing & rhodium plating
In addition, we offer a polishing and rhodium plating service for platinum and gold jewellery, this is carried out off site at our workshop, with a 1-2 week turnaround time. Ring polishing starts from £25, and from £45 for polishing and rhodium plating.
Ring resizing
Our knowledgeable and experienced workshop work on gold, platinum, palladium and silver, and our ring resizing service generally has a 1-2 week turnaround. For the vast majority of cases we will give you a quote in-store, before your ring is sent via insured post to our secure workshop.
At the time of quoting we will also have a general check of the ring and advise you of any maintenance work which may be worth carrying out while the resizing is done.
Prices are dependant on the precious metal, the amount which we are resizing the ring by, and the width of the band itself.
Jewellery repair, restoration & remodelling
We offer a comprehensive range of jewellery repairs to bring your favourite pieces back to life, from some simple claw retipping or repairing a broken chain, to replacing lost gemstones and total restoration, we at Harrington Brookshaw Jewellers can help and advise you.
We take pride in transforming elements of your existing jewellery, ideas such as sympathetically remounting a gemstone from a treasured heirloom into a new piece of jewellery, or amalgamating gemstones from multiple items of jewellery into something new and exciting.
Bespoke jewellery
Create a truly unique piece of jewellery using our bespoke service. By incorporating elements of your existing jewellery, taking design cues from pieces which we have in stock, or getting ideas from our archive of previous commissions, we will work with you to fine tune a design.
Your chosen bespoke piece will be beautifully handmade by our craftsman in our workshop and presented to you.
Sell your jewellery
We are always happy to look at and consider any jewellery which you would like to part exchange or sell, whether this be items in gold, platinum or silver, gem set jewellery, loose diamonds or coins.
Our buyer is available most days and there is no need to make an appointment. We offer immediate payment, and if you have any questions and would like to discuss selling your jewellery, please do not hesitate in contacting us.
Engraving - Wedding rings
Personalise the inside of your wedding ring with detailed and precise laser engraving. Options such as names, initials, your wedding date or a short message can be engraved, in one of three lettering styles. This service is offered free of charge when purchasing one of our wedding rings. Please allow up to 3 additional weeks for this service.
Engraving - Signet rings & cufflinks
In keeping with the hand-crafting of our Deakin & Francis jewellery, why not add a touch of personalisation with some hand engraving? Signet rings can have the head personalised with simple surface engraved initials, or with a highly detailed deep seal crest or monogram.
Plain Sterling Silver or gold cufflinks can be surface engraved, and depending on depth, seal engraved.
Detailed Sterling Silver or gold cufflinks can also be engraved with up to 3 initials on the backplate of the swivel fitting. Please allow up to 6 additional weeks for this service.
Bremont servicing
As Guildford’s sole Bremont stockist, we offer a selection of accessories, including a wide range of replacement straps, plus pin buckles and deployment clasps. for more information on Bremont Straps click here
If you require any warranty work or a service on your Bremont, we will take care of its journey to and from Bremont HQ. A full report is filled out in-store with you, detailing the watch, its condition and any known issues to be addressed. Please allow up to 12 weeks for a full service.
Pearl restringing
We are happy to assess your pearl jewellery, and should any work be required our vastly experienced stringer uses traditional methods working with silk, and strands can be strung with or without knots in-between the pearls. Gemstones and beads can also be worked on, and we can supply replacement gold or silver traditional clasps, or silver magnetic clasps.
As an example, to string a non-graduated knotted 16” strand costs £35.
The service takes 1-2 weeks.
